That was a great video of Megan. My little guy just turned 4, and he is also a pro at sight words. We use Edmark and he can read about a hundred words, plus the names of family members and such. I can't figure out how he does it. He learns them so fast. We do 3 new words every week. and he picks them up on the first day. I hope Megan's teachers will be impressed.

That is incredible, Stephanie! How long have you been working on this? Do you stick them to the objects or use them only in this manner (as flash cards)?

We stick them on the actual objects. Everything in our home is labeled.

I used "Teaching your Child with Down Syndrome to Read" and a few techniques from eReadingPro.
I bought a laminator through Lakeside.com for $19.95 and it is awesome. I laminate all the words and then put the velcro on the back.

We go over the list of words 3 times a day and then before bed we do it 1 more time where she tells me what they are and puts them where they belong.
