School's out for summer!!!! I keep signing that song in my head as today is the last day of school...yippee! I think I am as excited as Joey.
We got his yearbook and I flipped through each and every page looking for him to appear in at least 1 picture...well, he was at least in his class picture. I was on the yearbook committee last year and was very good about getting random pics of ALL the kids. Well this year I never heard back to be on the committee and well, this year there are just the same kids in each pic....and all there mom's are on the committee or a homeroom mom....go figure. I almost want to ask for my money back....it made me ill to page through it.
Are your schools as political as mine? You don't make travel baseball unless your dad is a coach...you don't get invited to parties unless you "fit" in. You get left out of the yearbook unless your mom is a PTO mom...ugh!
I am so taking over our school once my girls are in elementary and I AM GOING TO INCLUDE EVERYONE! I am not going to make anyone feel left out or shunned...it is the worst feeling in the world.
Maybe this blogging wasn't such a good idea (lol) because now I am all over the place and found this "Blog for a year"...how cool would it be to write everyday and get paid for it...all you have to do is go to this link and vote....and you can vote everyday. The pay check is $80,000 not too bad!
I know my girl is smart. She does not talk as much as other 3 year olds, but she does understand everything you say....here is an example.
Working with Olivia following directions:
Livi throws her sippy cup on the floor.
Mom: Livi, pick it up and put it on the kitchen table Livi: No Mom: Livi, please pick it up and put it on the table
Livi picks it up
Mom: Good girl...(PRAISE PRAISE PRAISE)
Livi smiles and runs into the kitchen, opens our cabinet and chucks the sippy in the trash can
Mom:
Megan marches over to the trash, pulls out the cup and slams it on the table saying "LIVI TABLE"
It was sooooo funny and too cute! She can teach Livi a thing or too.
OK, another that happened yesterday...not a brag since it isn't the nicest thing to say but her new favorite movie is Madagascar (Joey will watch it in the car w/o complaining and the girls like it so everyone is happy) Well, Megan LAUGHS through the whole thing, just loves the movie. We pull in the drive way and I turned off my car before this line in the movie came on and Megan almost repeated it verbatim...we even turned the car back on to see...YUP, she said... "excuse me, your biting my butt" Me and Joey were in hysterics!
Joey pitched the 1st 3 innings and did AWESOME. The 1st and 2nd innings were 3 up 3 down...he was on fire. The last inning they scored 1 run, but his team ended up winning 9 to 2. So we play again tomorrow. If we win tomorrow we play in the championship game on Saturday. It would be his 2nd year making the Championship game.
Last year his team was teetering on last place. There were 8 teams and the top 7 made the playoffs. Well we somehow crawled by to make the playoffs. Somehow, someway our boys made it to the Championship game, it was surreal, bad news bear like. Well in the hot June sun we sat for 3 long hours while we went into the 10th inning (in little league they play 6 innings) but we needed a winner for this game and the best team in the league was having a hard time beating our boys. It was heart wrenching, the boys lost when 1 boy had walked and the next hit him home. It was so sad to see this group of 9 year old boys crying, but it was so exciting at the same time.
We love baseball in our house. I will share some pics tomorrow as bad mom walked out of the house w/o the camera.
I am running out the door to Joey's playoff game where he is starting pitcher. His team finished first in the league...much different from last year. I will tell the story when I get in...but wanted you all to think positive thoughts that he does well, pitching is a BIG stress. Thanks!
So I am on my 2nd day of working out and eating right. Can I quit yet? My body is in so much pain...supposedly once I am used to it, it will make me feel better. I just wanted more energy and not feel tired all the time but man ol' man, when I come in from the gym, all I want to do is snooze on the couch. I am hoping to lose about 70 lbs all together. Then I will be healthy and fit and can maybe try playing basketball again. I miss that! So I am asking my new blogging friends. Please share any recipes for healthy foods, good routines, any pointers, good websites to help track progress. I spent $194 tonight at the grocery store buying "healthy"...man that doesn't get you much....it is expensive to eat well.
Check out the link to watch me, Megan and the other contributors of Gifts on our television interview. I am so proud of all of us, we are really getting our name out there and helping so many new parents.
Well gotta go answer another email and phone call, I seem to be miss popular tonight...LOL
